Lauren's Quilt

A gift from her parents to my cousin on the eve of her leaving home for University. I tried out a darker brown, purple and green border in this quilt.
Contains pieces of lace given to me by our Granny and sewing samples - specifically the fagot stitch (Sage green on powder blue square) which our Grandmother was told by the teacher was quite unimpressive as a child. It looks better than any of us could do.

Glitter Mugs

Not a quilt, but I made these as a thank you present for some of my colleagues. Apparently they can go in the dishwasher safely. The range of colours is limited only by Wilko's glitter selection (let's say unlimited).

John and Lucy's Wedding Blanket

I am really pleased with this quilt, as it contains lots of the owner's history in it. Bits of clothing from childhood, Indian prints (where they got engaged), family tartans and a piece of Lucy's wedding dress. I think the lace squares in the thick border work well too.

Holly's Birthday Blanket

Made for my cousin's 18th Birthday in record time (5 days). Exciting, I know. This one has a pastel-coloured border made exclusively of her childhood or relevant family fabrics. In particular lots of fabrics from things belonging to our aunt whom Holly takes her middle name from. I think borders work well. Backed with light weight ribbed cotton blanket. Another quilt, another terrible image of it. Sorry.
